SALEMBA,
The lively chatter and warm laughter of new students once again echoed on the sixth floor of the IASTH UI Salemba building on Saturday afternoon (08/11/2025). More than 30 new students of the Master’s Program in Communication Science, FISIP Universitas Indonesia, attended a welcoming event organized by the Communication Science Postgraduate Student Association of Universitas Indonesia 4.0 (HIMPASKOM UI 4.0).
Carrying the theme “Meet The HIMPASKOM,” the event, titled “Welcoming Freshmen 2025,” was packed with various light and casual activities. These activities included a question-and-answer session about course material, final thesis, academic assessment technicalities, filling out the IRS (Study Plan Form), and a quiz with attractive prizes.
Haris Pramajakti, Chairman of HIMPASKOM UI 4.0, explained that this event was not merely a formal welcoming ceremony but also an important moment to strengthen camaraderie among Postgraduate Communication Science students.
“Our goal is to provide a platform for S2 students so that they feel safe, comfortable, and smooth during their studies, especially so they don’t miss out on information,” said Haris.
On the same occasion, Haris also introduced the board of management and various work programs of HIMPASKOM UI 4.0. He hoped that this event would be a starting point for the new students to become actively involved in the academic and student life at the Postgraduate Communication Science Program, FISIP UI.
“The hope is that new students realize the existence of HIMPASKOM UI as a place for discussion and shelter; we are also opening opportunities for them to join our management,” Haris revealed.
Tirto Prima Putra, one of the new students of the 2025 cohort, expressed his appreciation to the HIMPASKOM UI management for taking the time to organize the event. According to him, the new student welcoming event is very beneficial for building synergy among the academic community.
“Certainly, as a new member in the Postgraduate Communication Science UI, a transfer of knowledge is needed, especially regarding the campus culture and ecosystem,” stated Tirto.
Tirto added that he hopes the synergy between Communication Science S2 students and alumni or external parties will also be built through activities organized by HIMPASKOM UI. (FSI)
