Doctoral Program Curriculum

The UI Doctoral Program (S3) in Communication curriculum is designed to meet KKNI Level IX standards, namely:

  • Able to develop expertise/science through research based on scientific principles through research whose results are compiled in the form of dissertations and scientific publications in accredited scientific journals.
  • Able to develop research roadmaps based on critical thinking about concepts, principles, or theories that already exist in the scientific field/expertise with an inter approach,  multi, and transdisciplinary.
  • Able to develop scientifically accountable arguments and solutions based on academic ethics, and communicate them through various forms of media to the general public.

Matriculation

Matriculation must be followed by students whose previous education is not in the same field as the Communication study program. Matriculation activities include theoretical deepening and methods of communication sciences. The matriculation credit load is 12 credits.

Scientific publications

Students produce 1 scientific paper published in indexed international journals (8 credits). Scientific publication is a prerequisite for doctoral promotion. The journals in question are indexed by medium or high-category ideating institutions (SCOPUS/Pubmed/ISI/Thompson or other indexes recognized by the Higher Education (Dikti)).
