In the Even Semester 2022/2023, the Graduate Program of Communication Sciences at the University of Indonesia held doctoral promotion hearings for seven of its students. On Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Juwono Sudarsono Auditorium (AJS), Building F 2nd Floor, FISIP UI Depok Campus, a doctoral promotion hearing was held for Dewi Chandra Kirana, who is also a lecturer at the UI Department of Communication Sciences. The title of the dissertation presented is “Privacy Management on
Sexting
(Qualitative Study on Young Adult Individuals who Use
Sexting
in a Romantic Relationship).”
The doctoral promotion session of Dewi Chandra Kirana was chaired by Prof. Dr. Semiarto Purwanto, and attended by Dr. Hendriyani, S.Sos., M.Si. as promoter, Dr. Dra. Nina Mutmainnah, M.Si. as copromoter and the examination team namely Prof. Dr. Dra. Billy Sarwono, M.A., Dr. Irwan M. Hidayana, Ph.D., Dr. Eriyanto, S.I.P., M.Si., Dr. Indah Santi Pratidina, S.Sos., M.Soc.Sci., and Dr. Andria Saptyasari M.A. The family, colleagues, and students of Dewi Chandra Kirana also attended and provided support.
Broadly speaking in the doctoral promotion session, Dewi Chandra Kirana revealed that the purpose of her dissertation was to explain privacy management.

/chat) in romantic relationships among young adults. This research uses a number of concepts in the Theory of Communication Privacy Management from Sandro Petronio (2002). This research is interesting to see the phenomenon of sexual message exchange (
sexting
) is currently quite common among teenagers, without considering the impact or risks in the future.
The examiners asked several questions related to the dissertation researched by Dewi Chandra Kirana, one of which was a question from Prof. Dr. Dra. Billy Sarwono, M.A who briefly asked: “What do you want to call Dewi Chandra Kirana?”. Then Dewi Chandra Kirana confidently replied that she wanted to be called an interpersonal communication expert. On this occasion, the entire examining team expressed their pride to Dewi Chandra Kirana who had successfully completed this trial with a very satisfying predicate. (DLN)
