SALEMBA, 2023

As a primary human need, food is the basic necessity that humans consume every day. Students can spend half of their day on campus, either to participate in lectures, discussions or organizations. Fulfillment of food needs is crucial among students both before and after lecture activities. The following are culinary recommendations in the UI Salemba Campus area:

Kalpemas Cooperative Canteen / Prima UI New Canteen

Both canteens are located within the UI Salemba Campus area. This canteen is the most popular, closest, and affordable culinary destination for students after class hours. Kalpemas Cooperative Canteen and Prima UI New Canteen are located close to each other in the back area of the campus, right opposite the parking lot. The menu choices are also very diverse, from light to heavy meals, healthy menus, fruit juices to chinese food available in both canteens. Only by spending 30 thousand rupiah, students can already eat food complete with drinks.

Kitchen Avenue is located at St. Carolus Hospital which is 400 meters equivalent to a 6-minute walk from UI Salemba Campus. With the concept of food court (foodcourt), Kitchen Avenue offers a wide range of eateries and a variety of cuisines. Despite being in a hospital area, this food court is very hygienic, comfortable and equipped with air conditioning. From home-cooking stalls to famous stalls, students can choose as a culinary alternative in the area around the UI Salemba Campus.

Metropole Foodcourt

The furthest but most popular culinary destination for students to unwind after class. Foodcourt Metropole also carries the concept of a food court with a wide selection of Indonesian food. This food court is complementary to the XXI Metropole Cinema which is located in the same area. Although it takes the longest distance, access to Metropole is very easy using JakLingko city transportation with a fare of 0 rupiah. As a favorite culinary destination, students must be prepared to fight for seats if they come at mealtime. (GLS)
